Our Origin
The 2020 pandemic revealed and exacerbated existing societal issues, including employee physical and mental health, exclusion and disparities due to race, gender and class, as well as new challenges to teamwork and productivity. We believe that research should inform and guide policies and practices so organizations can effectively address these interrelated issues. Penn State University offers expertise in the areas of health, diversity, and team productivity, across different campuses, departments and colleges. This initiative was formed because research must consider all three of these broad issues to truly foster workplace wellness. By partnering with industry, we aim to foster innovative research that can be translated and applied to workplaces today.
This initiative received financial support from the Social Science Research Institute (SSRI)
